Weight-loss Interventions for Adolescents with Down Syndrome: A Review

The review assessed weight-loss interventions for adolescents with Down syndrome (DS). It analyzed 26 studies involving 1,171 participants, with 393 having DS. Key interventions, including physical activity, diet, and surgery, showed positive outcomes, including weight loss and BMI reduction. Notably, multicomponent programs and surgery were effective. Further research is needed to explore surgery, medication, and enhance intervention intensity and duration.
