A 25-center study on 291 patients with medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) assessed the healing rates of operative versus nonoperative therapies and identified prognostic factors. Results showed higher healing rates for operative therapy (95.8%) compared to nonoperative (70.7%). Discontinuation of anti-resorptive agents (ARA) also improved healing rates (87.2% vs. 37.4%). The study suggests that both operative therapy and ARA discontinuation are beneficial but should be considered within the context of the patient’s overall condition.
