A study on childhood obesity intervention examined responses in 12,453 overweight/obese children (median age: 11.5 years) undergoing lifestyle intervention. Three response subclusters were identified: 36.3% showed no BMI improvement, 44.8% moderate BMI reduction (-0.23 ΔBMIz), and 18.9% pronounced BMI reduction (-0.61 ΔBMIz). Factors influencing better outcomes included younger age, lower initial BMI, greater initial BMI reduction, and lower social deprivation. The findings emphasize personalized approaches and early intervention for high-risk cases with limited success chances.
