In a study, a dual-chamber leadless pacemaker system was evaluated for safety and performance. The system consisted of two devices implanted in the right atrium and right ventricle. The study included 300 patients with conventional indications for dual-chamber pacing. The primary safety endpoint, freedom from complications, was achieved in 90.3% of patients. The primary performance endpoints, including atrial capture threshold, sensing amplitude, and atrioventricular synchrony, were met in more than 90% of patients. The system provided atrial pacing and reliable atrioventricular synchrony for 3 months after implantation.

Treatment-related infections and life-threatening adverse events were also less frequent, although neurotoxic events were more common with blinatumomab.

An interim analysis of a 10,799-patient European trial found that starting surveillance colonoscopy 5 years after removal of high-risk adenomas was noninferior to starting at 3 years.
