
Hepatitis D virus (HDV) is a small satellite virus dependent on hepatitis B virus (HBV) for transmission. Approximately 5% of HBV-infected individuals are also infected with HDV, totaling around 12 million people worldwide. In the US, HDV prevalence is low (0.11% of individuals).
