Acetaminophen Shows Potential Benefits for Septic Patients' Microcirculation

In a prospective observational study involving 50 septic and septic shock patients treated with acetaminophen (ACT) for fever, sublingual microcirculation and tissue perfusion were assessed using Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) and vascular occlusion test (VOT). Results showed significant improvements in microvascular parameters, suggesting a potential protective effect of ACT on microcirculation in septic patients. Further investigation is warranted to understand the correlation between ACT and microvascular health.
