Active Surveillance Viable for Intermediate-Risk Prostate Cancer Patients

The PRIAS-JAPAN study analyzed 1066 prostate cancer patients under active surveillance, comparing ISUP grade group 1 (T1) with group 2 and/or T2. Over a median follow-up of 42.4 months, no significant differences were found in pathological reclassification, program persistence, or subsequent treatment. These findings support expanding AS criteria to select intermediate-risk patients in Japan.
