A study examined endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (enDCR) timing in acute dacryocystitis patients. 24 underwent enDCR in the acute phase, while 19 opted for delayed treatment. No significant differences were found in follow-up symptoms, tests, or resource usage. After 18 months, 91.3% in the acute group and 92.3% in the delayed group reported symptom resolution. Including reoperations and dropouts, beneficial outcomes were 91.7% in the acute and 75% in the delayed group. The acute group experienced significantly fewer pain medication days (3 vs. 10.5). Acute enDCR offers quicker relief with similar results.
