This Perspective highlights common misunderstandings that have been addressed in research but require further education for clinicians. It also explores ongoing contentious issues in IBS management, providing suggestions for improving clinical practice and guiding future research to address these gaps effectively.

An umbrella review of 69 systematic reviews covering 970 studies and 221 factors identified six factors with convincing evidence of association with psychotic disorders.
