Adjacent tooth migration after maxillary first molar loss in patients with sinus augmentation: A retrospective research

The study involved 143 cases, and CBCT data were analyzed to measure migration distances and rates of neighboring teeth. Results showed that neighboring teeth tended to migrate toward the edentulous gap, with occlusal contact loss and chronic apical periodontitis accelerating the process. Additionally, impacted adjacent third molars and root protrusion into the sinus were potential risk factors for distal tooth migration.
