The study investigated the impact of routine intraoperative ultrasound (IOUS) on perioperative outcomes in patients undergoing lymph node (LN) surgeries. The study included 104 patients, with half receiving IOUS-guided LN (IOUS-LN) and the other half undergoing conventional LN (C-LN). The results showed that IOUS-LN significantly reduced operative duration compared to C-LN (181.69+/-40.8 vs. 199.7+/-41.8; p=0.02), especially in laparoscopic simple nephrectomy cases.

A human adipose stem cell study found distinct insulin and IGF-I receptor patterns between subcutaneous and visceral fat. During adipocyte differentiation, insulin receptor expression increased in both depots, while IRb became particularly prominent in visceral cells.
