Analysis Reveals COVID-19 Testing Site Congestion and Infection Risks in Shenzhen

A study assessed the impact of COVID-19 testing site distribution on infection risks in Shenzhen, China, during the week of October 24-30, 2022. It found that testing sites experienced significant congestion, particularly during evening peak hours, which increased transmission risks. The Longgang District exhibited the highest risk of infection, with a risk coefficient ranging from 0.040 to 0.349 across different areas. Most districts maintained stable risk levels between 0.06 and 0.20. The research highlights the urgent need for policymakers to reduce congestion and recommends expanding testing site availability in high-risk areas like Longgang. These findings offer valuable insights for managing infection risks in other major Chinese cities.
