The study tracked serum sFlt1, PlGF, and sFlt1:PlGF ratios in pregnant patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). While SLE activity did not impact angiogenic marker levels, patients who developed preeclampsia (PE) showed significantly elevated sFlt1, suppressed PlGF, and increased sFlt1:PlGF ratios from the early second trimester. These changes may help predict PE in SLE pregnancies before clinical onset.
