Ankyloglossia’s Minimal Impact on Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy

A study assessed the effect of ankyloglossia (tongue-tie) on breastfeeding self-efficacy at 14 days of life. It found no significant differences in breastfeeding self-efficacy scores between newborns with and without ankyloglossia, suggesting that its impact on breastfeeding outcomes may be overestimated and questioning the need for routine surgical treatment.
