Persistent skull-pounding headaches have emerged as a long-term symptom of Covid-19, according to doctors. The headaches can worsen pre-existing conditions and are particularly common among young patients. Potential causes include the invasion of the virus into the nervous system, the release of cytokines, activation of the trigeminovascular system, and medication overuse due to increased stress levels. A survey conducted by Saridon revealed that 93% of respondents reported an increase in headaches linked to elevated stress levels during the post-pandemic era. Migraine sufferers are especially susceptible to post-Covid headaches, which can lead to a worsening of their condition.
