The aim of this study is to describe the involvement of Epstein–Barr Virus (EBV) in the diseases of the ocular anterior segment. This is a narrative review designed using the PUBMED, SCOPE and Web of Science databases, searching for reported literature on findings in the anterior ocular segment related to EBV between 1990 and 2020. Epstein–Barr Virus (EBV) is implicated in the development of salmon‐coloured conjunctival masses in the context of acute mononucleosis and lymphoproliferative disorders. Moreover, EBV can cause haemorrhagic conjunctivitis and its corneal implications appear as different types of keratitis patterns. The involvement of EBV in the pathogenesis of anterior segment inflammation is not well‐defined. A retrospective study of 1,262 men found a U-shaped association between abstinence duration and normal sperm morphology, with the lowest morphology rate around Day 5 (3.01%). The association was significant in men aged ≤35 years but not in those >35 years. Abstinence duration was not significantly associated with sperm motility, suggesting timing may matter when assessing sperm morphology.

A metabolomics study of 48 men identified distinct metabolic and lipid mediator changes in seminal plasma from patients with testicular germ cell tumors (TGCTs). Four oxylipins—9,10-DiHOME, 6-trans-LTB4, TXB2 and 14,15-DiHETrE—showed discriminatory potential, while a composite oxylipin signature demonstrated excellent diagnostic performance, supporting further research into non-invasive TGCT biomarkers.

A study of 1,208 Spanish preschoolers identified four eating behavior profiles—controlled, avid, typical, and avoidant. Avid eating and food-approach behaviors were associated with higher body composition measures, while avoidant and controlled patterns showed inverse associations. Notably, controlled eating was positively linked to fat-free mass in boys but negatively in girls.

A rare case report describes a 17-year-old boy with persistent right hydronephrosis despite preserved renal function. Multimodal imaging, including ultrasound, MAG3 scintigraphy and CT angiography, revealed an unusual renal vein aneurysm. Laparoscopic aneurysmorrhaphy successfully treated the anomaly, with postoperative resolution of hydronephrosis, highlighting the value of ultrasound in rare vascular diagnoses.

A mixed-methods study of 20 cardiac outpatients found that a plant-based vegan diet (PBVD) was feasible and generally acceptable.
