The study aimed to evaluate the reliability, acceptability, validity, and responsiveness of two commonly used health-related quality of life measures, PedsQL and CHU9D, in children and adolescents with overweight and obesity. The study included 6544 participants aged 10-17 years with up to 3 repeated measures of PedsQL and CHU9D. The results showed that both measures had good internal consistency reliability and high acceptability. PedsQL had superior known group validity and responsiveness compared to CHU9D. However, neither measure showed strong convergent validity. The study concluded that both measures have good psychometric properties and can be used to measure HRQoL in paediatric overweight and obesity, but CHU9D may have limitations in economic evaluations.
