Are statins effective in preventing chronic rhinosinusitis? A systematic review and meta‐analysis

This study assessed the relationship between statin use and chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS). The study conducted a meta-analysis of eight studies with 445,465 patients and found that statin users had a lower risk of CRS than non-users. Patients with hyperlipidemia had a higher risk of CRS. However, there were no significant differences in the risk of nasal polyps, Lund-Kennedy endoscopic scores, Lund-Mackay CT scores, or sino-nasal outcome test-22 scores between statin users and non-users in CRS patients.
