Arunachal Pradesh health authorities have issued a rabies outbreak warning in Itanagar after an 18-year-old student, Nyaro Rusing, from Don Bosco College succumbed to the disease. Dr. Lobsang Jampa, the State Surveillance Officer, stressed the fatality of rabies and urged immediate anti-rabies vaccination after a dog bite. Rusing exhibited classic rabies symptoms and was admitted to the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS). Sadly, he passed away at home due to family insistence on local rituals. Investigations revealed he was bitten by an unvaccinated puppy in July.
