Aspirin Dose Comparison in High-risk Obese Preeclampsia Prevention: ASPREO Trial Results

This study compared the efficacy of daily 162 mg versus 81 mg aspirin in preventing severe preeclampsia (PE) in high-risk obese pregnant women. Conducted from 2019 to 2022, it enrolled 220 participants and found a 78% probability that 162 mg aspirin reduces severe PE compared to 81 mg. Primary outcome incidence was 35% with 162 mg versus 40% with 81 mg, showing a trend towards benefit without significant differences in secondary outcomes or adverse effects.
