This study evaluated the safety, usability, and performance of a left atrial pressure (LAP) monitoring system in 30 heart failure patients. The device, consisting of a leadless sensor, was successfully implanted in all patients without acute adverse events. The agreement between sensor-calculated LAP and invasive mean pulmonary capillary wedge pressure was consistent. Preliminary evidence suggests possible improvement in heart failure clinical symptoms with the use of the monitoring system.
