A recent study explored the relationship between CAC and LVDD in hypertension patients without coronary artery disease (CAD). The study analyzed 250 consecutive hypertensive patients who underwent echocardiography and non-contrast coronary CT. LVDD prevalence was 64.8%, with patients having LVDD showing significantly higher CAC scores (median 142.8 vs. 5.0; p<0.001). Multivariable analysis demonstrated an independent association between CAC score and LVDD. Additionally, left atrial volume index and E-wave deceleration time were linked to high CAC. The findings underscore the importance of CAC assessment in hypertensive patients to identify LVDD risk.
