A new study has found a significant link between daytime napping frequency and the risk of cardiac arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation (AF/Af) and bradyarrhythmia. After a median follow-up of nearly 12 years, researchers documented increased risks of AF/Af and bradyarrhythmia among frequent nappers compared to those who rarely nap. The findings, adjusted for various factors, suggest a potential causal relationship between increased daytime napping and the development of these cardiac conditions. This adds to the growing body of evidence highlighting the importance of understanding the impact of daytime napping on cardiovascular health.
