In a study of 3,193,951 individuals aged 16 or older in Israel, the association between Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), SARS-CoV-2 infection, and COVID-19 vaccination was investigated. Over the study period from January 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022, 76 GBS cases were matched with 760 controls. Results revealed that SARS-CoV-2 infection was linked to a significantly increased GBS risk (OR: 6.30), while Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccination showed a significantly reduced risk (OR: 0.41). The findings emphasize the importance of considering these associations in public health strategies.
