The study investigated the association between sarcopenic obesity and muscle quality using abdominal computed tomography. It included 13,612 participants, and the results showed that sarcopenic obesity was significantly associated with myosteatosis, indicating poor muscle quality. The prevalence of myosteatosis was higher in participants with sarcopenic obesity than in the control group without sarcopenia or obesity. The study suggests that sarcopenic obesity may be a risk factor for poor muscle quality.
