The study analyzed 389 children with community-acquired septic shock. Results showed no significant difference in mortality or long-term decline in health-related quality of life between male and female children when grouped by age (<1 year, 1-<13 years, 13-18 years). The study suggests gender doesn't significantly impact sepsis outcomes in children across age groups.
