Association of Vitamin D Insufficiency and Serum Levels With the Incidence and Stage of Cutaneous Melanoma

The study analyzed 14 studies and found that low vitamin D levels (<20 ng/dl) were linked to a higher incidence of cutaneous melanoma (CM). Additionally, lower vitamin D levels were associated with deeper Breslow tumor depth (>1 mm), while higher levels (>20 ng/dl) showed less favorable tumor depth (<1 mm). This highlights the importance of maintaining adequate vitamin D levels for skin health and potentially reducing the risk of CM.
