This study explores the association between cardiovascular disease risk factors and hearing loss in Canadian adults. Utilizing data from the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging, cross-sectional and longitudinal analyses reveal links between diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and smoking with hearing loss. The study highlights sex-specific differences, with certain risk factors impacting males and females differently. The findings underscore the need for interventions targeting these risk factors to potentially mitigate hearing loss progression in older adults.
