The study involved 141 volunteers who found sedentary time positively associated with Adipo-IR, moderated by age, BMI, and cardiorespiratory fitness. Sedentary time is also linked to higher visceral fat, especially in females. In contrast, cardiorespiratory fitness was inversely associated with visceral and subcutaneous fat, with sex and BMI moderating the effect. The findings highlight the importance of reducing sedentary behavior and improving cardiorespiratory fitness to mitigate cardiometabolic risk.
