Bayer AG and Asklepios BioPharmaceutical, Inc. have initiated the Phase II GenePHIT trial, evaluating AB-1002 gene therapy for non-ischemic cardiomyopathy and New York Heart Association Class III heart failure symptoms. The trial aims to enrol 90-150 adults with congestive heart failure (CHF) despite standard therapy. AB-1002's safety and efficacy will be assessed in the largest patient group. CHF affects millions worldwide, with symptoms like swelling and breathing difficulties. The trial represents a significant step in addressing this unmet medical need.
