A recent examined the effectiveness of posterior labral repair in the presence of posterior glenoid bone loss and labral pathology. Using a cadaveric model, the study tested different arm positions and degrees of bone loss. The results showed that labral repair significantly increased the stability of the shoulder joint, regardless of the amount of bone loss. However, in cases of large bone loss (over 25%), additional bony augmentation may be necessary to achieve optimal stability.
