Bitter Taste Receptor TAS2R14 Linked to Thyroid Cancer Survival

The study examined bitter taste receptors (T2Rs) in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). TAS2R14 was highly expressed in PTC cells, and bitter agonists triggered calcium responses, reduced cell viability, and induced apoptosis. Higher TAS2R14 expression correlated with improved progression-free survival. These findings suggest that T2Rs may have therapeutic potential in thyroid cancer treatment.
