Blood Biomarkers Identify Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy with High Accuracy

Plasma biomarkers differentiate cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) from healthy controls. In 45 CAA patients, Aβ42/40 ratios were lower, while p-tau-181 and NfL were elevated. GFAP levels remained unchanged. A combination of Aβ42/40 (Simoa), p-tau-181, and NfL achieved an AUC of 0.90, demonstrating strong diagnostic potential. These findings highlight plasma biomarkers as promising tools for non-invasive CAA detection and improved clinical diagnosis.
