This study delves into the age-period-cohort (APC) analysis of obesity among Malaysian adults, using data from National Health and Morbidity Surveys spanning 1996 to 2015. The results reveal escalating BMI and waist circumference trajectories across age and cohorts, with distinct variations by sex and ethnicity. Females exhibit more pronounced increases in BMI and waist circumference with age and cohort recency, while the Chinese display comparatively milder trajectories. The study emphasizes the need to identify factors contributing to these trends, particularly among the Chinese population, to mitigate future obesity rates effectively.
