
A retrospective study analyzed cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans of 30 patients with unilateral maxillary canine impaction to assess skeletal characteristics, including bone density (BD), bone microstructure (fractal dimension, FD), maxillary bone volume (MBV), and palatal volume (PV). Results indicated that buccally impacted canines exhibited significantly higher BD and FD, while MBV was greater on the non-impacted side (p < 0.001). For palatally impacted canines, BD, FD, and MBV were higher on the impacted sides, with PV significantly greater on the non-impacted sides (p < 0.001).
