Bone–Soft Tissue vs. Soft Tissue Allografts in ACL Reconstruction

Bone–Soft Tissue vs. Soft Tissue Allografts in ACL Reconstruction

This systematic review and meta-analysis compared outcomes of bone–soft tissue allografts and soft tissue–only allografts in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR). Data from 14 studies revealed lower cumulative failure rates (11% vs. 20%, P = .05) and graft rupture rates (6% vs. 13%, P = .07) for bone–soft tissue allografts compared to soft tissue–only allografts. These findings suggest that bone–soft tissue allografts may be the preferred choice for ACLR due to their superior durability and reduced failure rates.
