CAC Density and Cardiovascular Risk in Asymptomatic Individuals

The meta-analysis found that higher coronary artery calcium (CAC) density is inversely associated with the risk of cardiovascular events in asymptomatic individuals. The association persisted even after adjusting for clinical risk factors and CAC volume, with statin-naive patients benefiting most. The findings suggest that CAC density could improve cardiovascular risk assessment and guide treatment strategies.
