A CANTABILE study compared the effects of canagliflozin and teneligliptin on metabolic factors in patients with Type 2 diabetes over 24 weeks. The study analyzed 75 patients in the canagliflozin group and 70 in the teneligliptin group. Both groups showed significant reductions in Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c). In the teneligliptin group, energy intake significantly decreased, but no significant change in body weight was observed. In contrast, the canagliflozin group significantly reduced body weight despite a trend toward increased energy intake. These findings suggest that canagliflozin effectively manages blood glucose levels while reducing body weight, even with increased energy intake.
