A global TriNetX database study found that catheter ablation significantly reduces all-cause mortality, heart failure exacerbations, and ischemic stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). Benefits were most notable among women and patients with hypertension or better cardiac function. Catheter ablation may also prevent progression to reduced ejection fraction over long-term follow-up.
