Central diastolic blood pressure, plasma aldosterone and uric acid are associated with microalbuminuria in essential hypertension

A recent study explored the link between microalbuminuria (MAU) and essential hypertension (EHT). The research identified 26.5% of EHT patients with MAU, indicating a substantial prevalence. Key MAU-related factors included higher body mass index, longer hypertension duration, and increased severity. Elevated levels of creatinine, plasma aldosterone (PA), and uric acid (UA) were observed in the MAU group. The study highlighted associations between MAU and central diastolic blood pressure (CDBP), PA, and UA. The combined use of CDBP, PA, and UA proved effective in predicting MAU, offering valuable insights into its development in EHT.
