This randomized study evaluated the effect of head extension using a cervical collar in patients with moderate obstructive sleep apnea. The treatment group, combining cervical collar use and lifestyle intervention, showed a significant reduction in respiratory events and oxygen desaturation index compared to the lifestyle intervention group. The effect was most prominent in the supine position, suggesting cervical collar use as a potential second-line treatment, particularly for positional obstructive sleep apnea.
