A real-world study examined the feasibility of stopping anti-PD1 treatment in advanced melanoma patients who achieved complete response (CR). The study included 35 patients with CR to nivolumab or pembrolizumab. After discontinuation, 91.9% of patients remained progression-free at 24 months. Estimated progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) at 36, 48, and 60 months were high. The use of antibiotics after discontinuation increased the odds of progression. The study suggests that elective anti-PD1 discontinuation is possible for advanced melanoma patients with CR and favorable baseline factors.
