CHIP: A Key Risk Factor in Cardiovascular Disease

Clonal haematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP) is common in older adults and strongly predicts cardiovascular events, including heart failure, arrhythmia, and atherosclerosis. Although traditionally linked to hematologic malignancies, most CHIP-related deaths stem from non-malignant cardiovascular causes. Animal studies support CHIP’s causal role, highlighting its therapeutic potential and relevance in precision cardiology.
