A study delves into the factors affecting individuals with chronic psychotic disorders and their involvement in correctional facilities in Ontario. The study, which compared those with correctional participation to those without, found that individuals with such involvement were more likely to reside in neighborhoods marked by material deprivation and residential instability. Surprisingly, despite their mental health-related comorbidities and acute mental health service utilization, visits to psychiatrists were low before correctional involvement.
