A study on Janus kinase inhibitors (JAKi), new oral drugs for rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis, reveals 66.6% patient awareness, often prescribed after other therapies fail. Clinicians express safety concerns, yet 91.5% follow guidelines, with 72.3% prescribing JAKi as monotherapy. Despite side effects, patients find that JAKi benefits outweigh the risks, reporting higher satisfaction (39.3%) than biologics (25.0%). The COVID-19 pandemic led to increased JAKi prescriptions as a safer alternative, with some patients speculating on potential protection against severe COVID-19.
