Clopidogrel with indobufen or aspirin in minor ischemic stroke or high-risk transient ischemic attack

The CARMIA study reveals promising findings for a new dual antiplatelet therapy comprising indobufen and clopidogrel compared to the conventional aspirin and clopidogrel regimen for minor ischemic stroke or high-risk TIA patients. Out of 182 eligible patients, those on indobufen and clopidogrel showed no endpoint events (stroke/TIA recurrence, MI, or death), significantly lower disability scores, and fewer bleeding incidents than those on aspirin and clopidogrel. While improvements in neurological scores were similar between groups, the indobufen and clopidogrel combination demonstrated potential superiority in effectiveness and safety, marking a significant advancement in cerebrovascular disease treatment.
