Clustering Post-Stroke Fatigue Phenotypes Based on Motor Function and Mood Comorbidities

In this cross-sectional study of 94 non-depressed chronic stroke survivors, the study examined the relationship between post-stroke fatigue, motor function, and mood comorbidities. Utilizing clustering analysis, four distinct fatigue phenotypes emerged, with left-hemisphere strokes associated with specific mood characteristics and right-hemisphere strokes exhibiting unique motor characteristics. The findings underscore the heterogeneity of post-stroke fatigue and emphasize the importance of categorization for targeted interventions. Understanding these interactions can inform context-specific interventions for individuals experiencing post-stroke fatigue alongside comorbid deficits.
