Combination immunomodulation for immune-checkpoint-inhibitor-associated myocarditis

The study explores the effectiveness of combination immunomodulation therapy for the treatment of immune-checkpoint-inhibitor-associated myocarditis (ICIAM), a rare but potentially fatal side effect of immunotherapy. The study was a retrospective analysis of patients diagnosed with ICIAM and found that combination therapy with high-dose corticosteroids and either intravenous immunoglobulin or plasma exchange resulted in a higher rate of myocardial recovery compared to corticosteroids alone. The study highlights the importance of early recognition and prompt treatment of ICIAM to improve patient outcomes.
