The randomized clinical trial conducted in India compared the efficacy of oral acitretin plus topical triamcinolone acetonide (TAC) with TAC monotherapy in treating symptomatic oral lichen planus (OLP). Sixty-four patients participated in the study, with the combination therapy demonstrating higher efficacy in achieving a 75% or higher reduction in Oral Disease Severity Score compared to TAC monotherapy at both 28 and 36 weeks. The findings suggest the potential effectiveness of the combined treatment for symptomatic OLP.
