Comparison of clinical efficacy and safety of dulaglutide and semaglutide in Japanese patients with type 2 diabetes

A study comparing dulaglutide and semaglutide with type 2 diabetes demonstrated significant benefits. Semaglutide users exhibited greater reductions in HbA1c levels (7.9% to 6.7%) than dulaglutide users (8.1% to 7.4%). Additionally, the semaglutide group experienced more substantial decreases in BMI and visceral fat area and improved myocardial infarction risk index. Gastrointestinal symptoms were higher in semaglutide users, whereas dulaglutide users reported better quality-of-life scores related to pain and gastrointestinal issues.
